COMPARING FRACTIONS WITH VALUES LARGER THAN ONE TENTH

This activity has you working on a couple of skills. You will first need to identify the fractions. This "More or Less" activity works with numbers that have values in the tenths and greater. You'll have to do a little division for step two. Divide the top number (numerator) by the bottom number (denominator). That will give you the decimal value of the fraction.

The last step will be to compare the two values. One of these amounts will probably be larger than the other difference. Click on the correct choice in the center when you know which is larger. You may get two values that are equal to each other. Click the equal sign when that happens. The big thing to remember is that comparing fractions is just like finishing two short division problems.

Good luck and have fun.

DIRECTIONS

This type of activity challenges you to compare two values. You will be asked which value is greater or smaller for each question. Compare the two choices and click one of the center buttons. Those buttons will offer you the options of "Less Than", Equal To", and "Greater Than." Just click on the button with the correct answer. The next screen will show you the right answer.

You get a happy face for every correct answer and a sad face for every wrong answer. The quiz is over after ten (10) questions. Take the quiz again and again because all of the questions are random. Chances are, you'll get a new quiz every time. It's good practice to learn these basic arithmetic comparisons.
